Fun fact about me: I'm a bonafide history geek. PBS and the Smithsonian channel are my jam. The quote attributed to Professor Laurel Thatcher Ulrich "Well-behaved women seldom make history" is one of my personal mantras. Whenever I travel, I always research the nearby museums. Like I said, bonafide history geek.
I know a lot of people snoozed their way through history class, but I actually minored in history as an undergrad and focused most of my study on women's history, pop culture, and media, and how they affect society.
So, combining several of my passions, most of my posts for March of 2017 included women filmmakers of history in honor of Women's History Month. This year I plan to do the same, similarly to my month-long pledge to honor women directors last September for Woman Director Awareness Month. If you want to participate, I'll be tagging all of my posts for March with #WHM2018 and #WomensHistory -- I would love to see what women filmmakers and shakers of history you share!
