THE WORKSHOP

Welcome to the workshop. I love being a writer and exploring my creativity, and I'm always looking for fresh ideas and new storytelling methods. This is my work-in-progress space, where you can get a sneak peek into the projects I'm currently working on.

Here's a glimpse into some of the projects I'm currently working on:

Blog: As a writer, I love sharing my thoughts and insights with others. That's why I periodically work on my blog; I typically cover film and entertainment history and share some of my favorite things.

Interactive Fiction: I'm currently working on a text-based mystery in which the reader makes choices that determine the story's course. Interactive fiction is a form of storytelling that allows the reader to actively participate in the narrative. In interactive fiction, the reader is given choices throughout the story that affect the plot's direction and outcome. Chapters 1 & 2 of Anonymous Source are available to read and explore for free on my site.

Novel: I'm also working on my first full-length book, The Weight of Secrets, about family, identity, and the secrets we keep. I plan to finish the first draft of The Weight of Secrets by the end of the year.

The Weight of Secrets follows Madison Johnson, a determined young woman on a quest to unravel her family's hidden truths before time runs out. Madison's world is upended when her mother, Lisa, receives a devastating mesothelioma diagnosis, prompting her to race against time to uncover her mother's long-lost relatives.

Madison's search leads her on a journey through the past, taking her all the way back to 1989 when another mother, Kimberly Yoder, vanished without a trace, leaving behind a shattered family.

Madison's investigation uncovers a shocking truth: her mother assumed a new identity and abandoned her young family, leaving them in the dark about her whereabouts. But why did she do it?

As Madison delves deeper into her mother's enigmatic past and documents her discoveries along the way, she uncovers a web of lies and secrets that threaten to shatter the delicate bonds holding her family together. As she continues her search for answers, caught between her insatiable quest for the truth and maintaining her family's stability, Madison must confront the repercussions of the choices made years ago.

Screenplay: In addition to my other projects, I'm also working on a script that is my first foray into romantic comedies. I plan to finish the first draft of Yule Be Sorry by the end of the year.

Sophie and Nick's seemingly perfect relationship is shattered when Sophie uncovers Nick's infidelity right before the holiday season. As Sophie grapples with this heart-wrenching revelation, their world is further rocked by another bombshell: Nick's father, Paul, reveals a terminal diagnosis. Determined to create one last unforgettable Christmas for Paul, Sophie reluctantly agrees to maintain the charade of a blissful couple until New Year's.

As the holiday season unfolds, Sophie and Nick struggle to balance putting on a merry façade for the family while confronting the painful truth of their fractured relationship. Amid the chaotic mix of holiday cheer, bittersweet moments, and comedic mishaps, Sophie and Nick must confront their unresolved feelings: Can they find it in their hearts to rekindle their relationship and embrace a future together? Or will their misadventures under the mistletoe lead them to say goodbye for good?

I'm excited to share these projects with you as they develop! Keep an eye on this page for updates and sneak peeks into my creative process. I appreciate your interest in my work and look forward to sharing these stories with you.
